1. Put your phone down.
I know I'm guilty of this. I've thought about this a lot recently and my phone rules my life. I even have a nightly routine involving my phone. That's why I'm deciding to take a step back. I might even manage to do something cool in that time, maybe?

2. Saying exactly what you want to say.
I'm a texter. Always have been, always will be. I avoid talking to people on the phone, which is ironic considering my job. It's time to start saving texting for less serious matters. A face to face or telephone call is never going to be as scary as I think it is.

3. Read books.
Reading is something that I've always enjoyed and is something that I wish I did more of. I'm aiming to read at least one book a month.

4. You'll never be able to control other people.
This is a no brainier but it's something that I need to remember more. I'm not going to waste my time trying anymore.

5. You don't have to follow a set of rules society has forced upon you.
I'm a morning person, I'm not the biggest fan of clubbing, some days I enjoy the company of my dog more than other people. I always feel like I should be the opposite of this. Society has rules for everything; what you can wear, who you can date. It's important to remember that you're allowed to be different, and take pleasure in blurring the lines of society. I'm going to never to let anyone tell me otherwise.
