I've been very lucky that they've lived abroad for almost 20 years. It's meant my summer holidays have been filled of sun, sea and sand.
Even though I've been visiting for the past 18 years, I'd never really seen Barcelona in all its full glory. I decided to spend a day exploring with my nan - being a 2hour train journey away meant that it had to be a full day expedition.
All I can say is wow! I loved it. The architecture is the main thing I was obsessed with. I feel as though my nan was starting to get annoyed with me by the end of the day. All the constant stopping to take photographs.
I do wish that we'd had more time to book in one of the city tours. My main goal of the visit was to see the Sagrada Familia, however the cathedral was just as beautiful! The downside, that I should have predicted, was that you aren't allowed to enter if you're wearing short clothing. Just wish it wasn't 30+ degrees.
I would definitely go again, and really recommend that you do too. Please feel free to let me know of any other recommendations in the city and I'll be sure to check them out on my next visit!
As I've gotten older it's become harder for me to visit due to university commitments and employment. I now have the aim to visit for at least once a week, once a year.
