A Day Out: Attenborough Nature Reserve

About two weeks ago Matt and I decided to pay a trip to the Attenborough Nature Reserve. Granted it may have been pouring down with rain but we had fun regardless.

As it's right by the railway and canal there's a very clear juxtaposition of the old world and the new however when the sun was shining, the old world was far superior. There's designated bird hides if you're a keen bird watcher and plenty of places to walk your dog or go running. The reserve is stunning and is free to enter, I was so close to a Robin that it almost landed on my hand until a dog came running past.

Oh Wonder: A Review

Last year I was introduced to Oh Wonder and quite honestly, they've appeared in every one of my playlists I've created and I've been playing them constantly because I just can't stop listening to them.

I'm a big fan of chilled songs, the ones that are perfect for a lazy Sunday morning. Actually, I like listening to that kind of music anywhere and everywhere. So Oh Wonder are up there and fit me perfectly.

March Round-Up

It's time for another monthly round-up.

Here's to the first month of Spring and another 3 goals for April. I can already tell you that I haven't been able to accomplish everything I wanted to this month, but here's to the next month!

Get outside more

The weather has been awful the past couple of months and it's made me so reluctant to go outside, which is why I'm going to change this. I'm going to start running more and walking the dog. I need to be more sociable - even if that means popping down to the local pub for a pint in a beer garden!

Love, Season 3: A Review

*Spoilers below*

It's my final time writing a review about this show. It's been three years and has finally come to an end. One of the reason's why the show has struck hearts (my own included) so easily is because the story never confined itself to the tropes of a fairytale relationship that we're so accustomed to seeing.

The show enforces that in today's technological society we are more likely to connect with someone online than in person. Gus and Mickey represent that new modern way of dating and make us realise that it is far from perfect.

Signs I need a Mental Health Break

It might not even occur to you that you need a mental break. If definitely never used to occur to me! I now think about how fast each day goes and wonder where what's actually happened. I often find myself stressed out from work, so if you do too please know you aren't alone.

Taking a mental health break can do so much to help restore your mind, body, and spirit. A mental health break can be different things - from deep breathing for 5mins, to yoga or meditation. Whatever a mental health break means to you, you and your body deserve one.

A Letter to My Parents

This is to you, mum and dad.

It's not often that we really thank our parents for everything we do and are, expect for Mothers Day and Fathers Day, but we never truly say thank you and really mean it.

So thank you - for everything you do.

February Round-Up

It's the end of another month, which means it's time for my monthly round-up.

While I felt I achieved and continued with my goals from January, there are some that I didn't manage to cross off just yet this month.
Here are my top 3 goals for the month:

This is Me

This is me.
x

I'm feeling pretty content right now, because I've changed my attitude and outlook on my life. I decided to stop worrying so much and stopped trying to please everyone - as it's not possible.
I've grown my nails, I wear more lipstick. I got my hair cut after 11 months. I've enjoyed being around people who make me laugh and like being around me.

A Great Nights Sleep

I like sleep and I like my bed - a lot.

I sleep a hell of a lot, so much so my boyfriend calls me lazy, which is why I've decided to compile a list on how I started getting the most out of my sleep.
A soak in the bath - I'm a little routine in the fact that I have a bath every other night. Most nights before bed, I love nothing more than soaking in bubbles and listening to the easy decade playlists on Spotify. It leaves me feeling calm, clean, and cosy for bed.

January Round-Up

A new blogging goal of mine is to create a monthly round-up post of what I wanted to achieve each month and if I've actually achieved it.

The two things that I wanted to improve on this January are below:

Working Smarter, Not Harder

One of my favourite posts to read is how people handle their work days. I'm pretty sure all of us would like to work smarter instead of logging those extra hours and it's something I've been working pretty hard at improving over the past year. It's all trial and error in finding what works for you and how you personally work - but there are some fail-safe techniques that I really feel will help you get your day flowing a little easier.

Here's to 2018!

Hello 2018 - you've come around so fast it's suddenly hit me.

It's already been 6 days into the New Year and I've now only just found the time to say Happy New Year and round up how my 2017 has gone.

In the last 6 months my life has been a complete whirlwind. I would describe it as a rollercoaster (cliché, I know) but that simply means there's been some lows with the highs. The majority of the year for me has been pretty incredible and I liked it a lot.

I was always seeing people, places, and learning new skills. I hit the one year mark at the company I work for, passed my driving test, owned my first car, and went on my first holiday with my boyfriend. I've been incredible busy. I made sure I saw as much of the people who matter to me as often as I could - it's always time well spent.
